Brigid Glanville is an experienced reporter and presenter working in ABC television news and on the ABC News Channel.
As the ABC’s senior television reporter working in the NSW Parliament House bureau, Brigid covers a range of political, business and social issues affecting NSW. She has been covering State politics for the past 6 years. She’s seen the highs and lows of Labor and Liberal governments and covered the round during leadership spills and changes.
Brigid’s reporting extends beyond political reporting. Prior to this Brigid was a reporter and presenter for the ABC’s Lateline Business program. As well as providing analysis and coverage of daily business moves and what was happening on the markets, Brigid specialised in mining and agricultural. She covered extensively the move from agricultural commodities to the mining boom, filing stories from across the country.
Brigid’s skills as a reporter and presenter have seen her work overseas in the ABC’s Washington Bureau, where she covered the Anthrax attacks post terrorism attacks of 9/11 and in 2011 worked in the ABC’s New Zealand bureau covering the Pacific region. This also included covering the Pike River Mine disaster in NZ and the Christchurch earthquake.
Brigid’s skills as a reporter and interviewer see her in demand to present many shows on ABC Television. She regularly fills in for ‘Afternoons’ on ABC News 24 , The Midday News ABC TV, has hosted, 7.30 NSW, Lateline Business and The Business.
Brigid is married, with two daughters and two step sons.
